'Bridal Veil' hibiscus
Location: Kohala Coast, Big Island, Hawaii
'Bridal Veil' is the name of this white tropical hibiscus variety. It is another of the innumerable cultivars of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. The blossom is about four inches (10 cm) across.
I don't usually photograph flowers in full sunlight, but the bright light did seem to bring out the crepe-like texture of this blossom's petals.

A beautiful pure color Bobbie. I have a red one and a pink one, and last year the Japanese beetles devistated my pink one, and I never got even one flower. The red one is right next to the pink one, and never got touched. Hum, wonder why...

I like the shadow cast by the tall center of the bloom. It's a winner!

This flower looks delicate in its own way. The shadow of the stamen is striking.
Thanks everyone.
Bobbie
And the full sun on the flower made for a great black background. Just beautiful!
