'Candy Wind' Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
Location: Kohala Coast, Big Island, Hawaii
This cheerful pink hibiscus blossom with the scarlet throat is a patented cultivar, a product of a planned breeding program conducted in Florida by plant breeder Wendy R. Bergman. The Candy Wind Hibiscus is just one of Wendy's creations.
We bought the plant from a local garden shop here in Hawaii. It has been flourishing in our garden for nearly a decade.

Beautiful shot. I just took one today at the arboretum of a pink one and a yellow one.
Thanks, 2sweet. I'm going to your blog now to see your pink and yellow ones. ;-}

I absoloutely love this photograph. I drew a picture of the flower in this photograph, And honestly didn't even consider the copyright laws. I'm so sorry about that. but the picture isn't finished yet! I was hoping to scan it and turn it into a thank you card for my friend. I would like to ask for your permission to use this picture as a reference only for the card and for my private collection of drawings. It would only be used for this purpose (of course should I gain permission). Sorry again, I just got so caught up in the picture I didn't even think of copyright infringement :/
Sorry for another post, but the former no longer applies. I've changed the picture to the point where there us much significant difference from the inspiration, your photo. I still do admire it though, and I'll be showing my friends also into photography your website, it has become one of my favourites!
