Royal Poinciana (Delonix regia)
Location: Kohala Coast, Big Island, Hawaii
Last week for Ruby Tuesday I posted a photo of a single Royal Poinciana blossom. Here is another, surrounded by another and another and another! When these trees flower, they are completely covered with a dense profusion of blossoms. At this time of year, when seen from a distance, Royal Poinciana trees look like bright scarlet clouds perched on a trunk.

Breathtaking!
This is a very pretty flower group. I can imagine what those blooming trees look like!
Yes, Karen was with us on our Scotland leg. She had wanted to be phototgraphed in a red phone booth as she didn't get it done ever when she was in England.
Thanks, Bobbie, for peeking in on us.

Absolutely beautiful!
The tree must be so gorgeous face to face.
Beautiful red flowers. Not common in Singapore, cause I've not actually seen them here before.
Happy Ruby Tuesday!!!
I love this shot! Something about the light and color just makes my eyes feel happy. Beautiful flowers and beautiful photograph!
A really beutiful and dynamic version of red flowers!
What a profusion of red.
Those colours look too good to be true. Excellent!
They must be stunning trees to see (other than in photos, that is).
I would love to see that in my garden. Such a beautiful Ruby Tuesday.
How beautiful, it's like a tropical sunset in a tree.
What a gorgeous profusion of red glows! Love it!
These red flowers fill up the scene, leaving the more prosaic and duller greens to get noticed.
Nice!
"bright scarlet clouds" - a lovely way to express it
It is amazing when you make it larger! fills the screen with color
ahh, so exotic and beautiful and ruby! I love it...
Oh wow the colors are stunning, and so saturated. Nice job. :)
Beautiful!
I am up here
Yep, I definitely need one of these growing in my yard, where I can gaze upon it while sitting on the lanai.

Spectacular! There's a town in Florida named Poinciana a few miles down the road from where I used to live. I've never actually seen a Poinciana, but there's a few Mimosa here and they are very similar. Wonderful, graceful trees!
What a bright cheery flower. I'd like some of these around my house. My hummingbirds would love them.
I just love your pictures from Hawaii. Happy Ruby Tuesday.
Oh thank you! I saw one of these here on Oahu the other day and wanted to get a closer look, but it was in someone's yard so I restrained myself. Gorgeous trees, breathtaking photo!
That is so beautiful! I've seen them in Jamaica and maybe Cozumel and they are so lovely. Can't remember if they grow in south Texas or not.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. :)
Oh my goodness - so beautiful!! What a treat!
Beautiful!
Ghads! These are gorgeous... love that you post the camera settings. I need to stop whimping out & try the manual settings on my own ;)
Thank you all for visiting and for your observations about my Royal Poinciana blossoms. Much appreciated.
Bobbie
Your mention of scarlet clouds creates such a wonderful visual image in my head. These are beautiful!
I never thought I'd use the word "graceful" for a flower... but... it fits!
Very regal!
I need to visit Hawaii is what I need to do!
Great picture!
Bobbie, the Royal Poinciana tree is a gorgeous one to behold! When I first saw one I had to find out the name. Gorgeous post for Ruby Tuesday! :)
wonderful blossoms!
Thank you all!
Bobbie
Dear Bobbie,
I sure would like to see a whole tree of the beautiful Royal Poinciana blossoms.
Like a red shaded dream.
