Gold Dust Day Gecko (Phelsuma laticauda laticauda)
Location: Kohala Coast, Big Island, Hawaii
I know I've posted several other photos of the Gold Dust Day Gecko (Phelsuma laticauda laticauda) on this blog, but I just love these colorful little guys. This head-on shot was captured with my 105 mm macro lens.
This individual always hangs out around my back porch. I see it nearly every day.

Great capture! What a beautiful lizard!~I love the teal~blue color on his eyelids! I have lots of lizards in my garden, none quite so pretty and colorful though!

Great capture ! Love the colours of the Gecko, very nice DOF to capture the head of the Gecko only.
This little Gecko looks very friendly ! Look at its pose for you when you were taking its "portrait" ;)
He looks like he is smiling - you caught him perfectly!
@ Cat - Thanks. Yes, I think this is the prettiest lizard in Hawaii.
@ Jinghui - Thank you. He was a very cooperative photo subject: he stayed perfectly still for a few minutes.
@ Kathy - Thanks. I thought he looked like he was smiling, too.

Outstanding photo. Do you feed it?
Hi Sally -
No, we don't feed this guy. We don't have to. He chases and eats all kinds of insects, and he's very good at it. :)
