Flying High Above the Weather

weather aloft

Location:  40,000 Feet Above the Eastern Pacific Ocean

Flying across the eastern Pacific Ocean earlier this month, we passed over a significant weather system.  Here is the evidence: a vortex in the clouds far below the plane.

The view from the plane, above the clouds, so beautiful !

Next time, I would make an effort to take photos of the clouds when I am flying.

Wishing you a Happy New Year 2009 ! Have a great celebration !

Oh, wow! I love shots like these from a plane's window. I love that swirl in the clouds.

That does look rather menacing. Glad you were well above it!

@ 2Sweet -- I think the people sitting near me thought I was nuts as I kept snapping pictures the whole way.

@ Mojo -- Menacing it was! I was very glad to be well above that powerful weather system instead of underneath it.

wow, that's awesome! The most interesting thing I've ever seen from a plane was crop circles ;) How do they get there? LOL
