Scattered Offshore Showers at Twilight

Sky Watch Friday

twilight

Location: Kohala Coast, Big Island, Hawaii

Last evening's weather forecast mentioned scattered showers.  The sky was clear all afternoon, but just as the sun was setting, some clouds began to gather over the ocean.  Shortly after the sun sank below the horizon, the sprinkles began offshore, and by nightfall an onshore breeze brought the welcome rain clouds over our hillside garden.

This is my first SkyWatch entry.

The seepage of dark clouds filtering down to the calm below is very dramatic. Also I love the colours below on the right. Very nice photo!

Neat picture, I love how the rain is just starting to fall and looks like it hasnt made it to the ground yet.

Whoa! The way the clouds are hanging as if the curtains will fall after the sunset. And it did rain soon after, just the way I thought on seeing the shot.

Excellent shot for the first entry.

This is a cool sky watch pic!

I like the way it's divided into 3 parts, with very distinct lines and colors.

It took the larger picture to full appreciate how well you captured the mood of that view. This is a fine coastal shot. I'm relatively new t skywatch too and enjoy that special day each week.
